NAS Early Bird Plus Programme
Three month programme for parents carer of young children 4-8 years with an Autism Spectrum Condition and for the professionals supporting them.
This programme offers support for families whose child received a later diagnosis.
Three places per family are allocated this can be mum, dad, nana, friend, auntie, plus a place for professional, teacher, teaching assistant, CSA, social worker, home support worker.
To provide a consistant approach between home and school or whoever else is involved with supporting the family.
The eight group sessions are held locally each day each week, each session lasts 2.5 hours.
The programme is run by local professionals who have been trained by the NAS.
- The early bird approach will help you to understand you child’s autism.
- Structure interactions to develop communication.
- develop strategies to preempt problem behaviours and / or manage those that do occur.
